Voting with their feet (and taking their wallets with them). The exodus from New York continues.

Kahr Arms relocating due to gun control

PA, huh? You'd think that if they made a move at all, it'd be to a REAL gun-friendly state, like AZ or MT. Kahr's HQ is in Blauvelt, New York, but mfg is in MA. Nice of Justin Moon to consider his employees in relocating, but will he have to do it again in another year or two when the Eastern Establishment gets its panties all in a bunch and ban his products altogether?

The West is the best, as Jim Morrison said . . . unless you're in a gun friendly Southern state. Like Texas.

And Stag's owner is going to be checking out Myrtle Beach this week, though the company hasn't acted terribly serious about moving from Connecticut.

Pike County, Pennsylvania is less than sixty miles to the west of Blauvelt, New York, current corporate headquarters for Kahr Firearms. Picture traveling northwest from the Hudson River in the Tappan Zee Bridge area to the Delaware Water Gap west of Port Jervis, less than sixty miles along the NY/NJ border, but avoiding New Jersey. Production and Service for Kahr are in Worcester, Massachusetts.

ALL HAIL OBAOMAO!! TEH BESTEST GUN SALESMAN EVAH!! (for what? five years in a row now??)
With all these left coast gun laws being passed, and decent gun manufacturers moving to friendlier climes, Teh Won is SURE to stimulate the economy (in spite of His socialist self).
/sarc off.

Yep, Comrade ObaMao has really stimulated the economy all right... the war materials economy. I see not just guns & ammo flying off the shelves, but storage foods like freeze-dry and tactical everything (boots, fatigues, helmets, vests, web gear, etc., etc.,)...

I'm surprised that gun manufacturers leaving the Red Zone aren't relocating to Indiana. It's closer to their old address than the western states but still very very pro-gun. Plus, Indiana has a very strong manufacturing demographic. Hoosiers make just about anything, and there are a lot of people who are available to work whose factories have closed in the last 6 years.

When Cali went weird, we got an infusion of manufacturers AND trainers from Cali to Texas and have a good tech industry. IN is gun friendly, too, but if I owned a large corp instead of some lathes and mills, I'd be a bit shy of more tax-happy states. No perfect answers and I'm sure there was some considerations as to his employees and their extended families. One of my GOOD amigos was a smith for a famous high end (3 year waiting list and rifles and shotguns start at 30K US) manufacturer in the US. They wanted to move significantly far from where he had built his life for decades and he opened his own shop and stayed in place. Gun friendly state, of course. When I lived in MI, I saw the exact same thing happen when Gibson moved to TN. People that were custom shop level, lots of the top artisans, stayed in MI. They had their extended family, friends, and churches in MI, not TN. Moving a big company isn't a simple task. Moving employees of talent is even harder. I'm sure he did what he thought was the best balance for his company and staff.

How about Georgia? We're more gun friendly than Texas is!
