Logistics: "This Whole Ammo Shortage Thing by the Numbers."

“Take for example .22LR ammunition. The industry as a whole (all manufacturers combined) is setup to produce 4,200,000,000 (4.2 Billions) .22 LR annually. That is running all the machines, full capacity all the time, all manufacturers together."

If anyone wants .308 in 147 & 150 grain, I have a couple thousand rounds I'll sell for $1700.00.

Well, I'm not so sure... http://www.humanevents.com/2013/06/23/inside-the-great-obama-ammo-grab/

I was in my LGS the other day. They had plenty of pistol ammo in stock at pre-panic prices. Picked up a couple of boxes of 9mm for 16.99 each.
Supply seems to be catching up.

I am not sure what the facts are but I am sure that it is a justifiably paranoid government up to no good. That I am sure of.

That article is pretty short on evidence or facts other than ONE arms dealer talking most likely about SS109 (steel core 5.56).

some dept is going to use it, thats who we need to take it from, its that simple

I'm not set up yet to do .308, but anyone interested in 5.56 can get a hold of me for 1000 in an ammo can, included. Price is negotiable and I'll sell for less than what the stores are charging now. If you wanna discuss, you can call me @ 765 Six Zero Two 00Eight 2 (or) email me at HqIndMilCorps [AT] lavabit DOT com

Anyone wanting more than 1000 (5.56) can get a batch of 2000 or 3000 but it will take a bit longer to set up. Arrangements for exchange can be discussed offline. Interested parties need to live within driving range of Indiana; common carriers can't be trusted.

If the mfg's and importers are breaking their speed records to flood the USA with profitable ammo, we should be neck deep in .22lr, M855/SS109, and various .30's in short order. If this turns out to be the case, a lifetime supply order should be made, because it's a temporary reprieve. This is like when a critical supplier for your really great electronics design is going to stop making your chip, you get a chance to get plenty to allow you to make the last run and support customers for a couple years. Then it's over. NOS of big-geometry Chip X or radioactive meteorite monatomic iron enhanced matched 12AX7A/007 quads will increase in value with demand and scarcity (or regulatory restriction).

With silver hitting recent lows, I'm not buying a lot of ammo (as if it was on the shelves!), but trying to lay in full cupboards, canning supplies, and short cycle vehicle services that are a PITA (auto trans filter, timing belt, drips). Keep cycling canned fuel through vehicles (keep canned fuel fresh by rotation, with Sta-bil to put in the last batch when no more is coming). Gardening everything.

Solar panels are recently extraordinarily cheap ($0.78/W in singles, 54 cents in pallets), making RV systems that "charge" rather than "trickle/maintain" batteries very possible on a $600 budget (with existing batteries).

I see the large corporations like Wal-Mart and Bi-Mart getting some ammo on allocation, and allocating to customers. These rounds are probably minimum deliveries on long-term contracts with penalties for non-performance that the PTB allow to go forward. The "ration" for individuals is way less than normal people shooting once in a while to maintain proficiency will use, so I'm not going to blame "hoarders" like so many in the MSM have.

If ammo is not being shipped you in your AO, be assured it is being manufactured and is kept somewhere else. Proceed according to available intel and your resources.

Cheers.
