Sipsey Street Exclusive: Was the Gunwalker Plot Bill Newell's idea and the Obama National Security Council's opportunity? Will O'Reilly survive?

Sources familiar with the congressional investigation into the Gunwalker Plot say that investigators are homing in on early conversations -- and meetings -- between ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Field Division William Newell and his self-described "long-time friend," Kevin O'Reilly, a State Department employee then on the National Security Council. This is reflected, say the sources, in the subpoena issued this week by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee seeking, among other things, "All communications to or from William Newell, former Special agent in Charge for ATF's Phoenix Field Division, between . . . March 16, 2009 to March 19, 2009."

The sources also say that Newell met personally with O'Reilly during this early period in the Obama administration and they believe that Newell may have "weaponized" the desire for more better statistics on the part of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others to support the "90 Percent" meme -- that 90% of weapons seized in Mexico from the drug cartels actually came from American civilian market sources.

Newell, who the sources say was familiar with the tactic of "gun walking" from the previous failed Operation Wide Receiver in Tuscon where Newell had participated in it, probably provided the germ of the idea that "walked" weapons could be used to "boost the statistics" of weapons found at crime scenes in Mexico, in the words of an early whiistleblower in this case.

If this is true, it places Kevin O'Reilly, a State Department employee responsible to Hillary Clinton, as the critical potential witness in the early history of the Gunwalker Scandal. Sources also say that there is a "not unfounded" fear that O'Reilly, who was suddenly transferred to Iraq "to keep him from being interviewed by the committee" according to one, "will not survive the deployment."

This is a developing story and we will have more later.

I guess that would put Kevin O'Reilly on Obama's Kill List.

Easy to cover up, Ala Pat Tillman.

We're all pulling for you, Kevin O'Reilly! To survive long enough to testify under oath, that is. That's why we're leaving this google trail, to make it a little harder to arrange an "accident," a "stray shot," or a "random roadside IED." (And if your minders put you on a helicopter, make sure you strap in. Very easy to "accidentally" fall out of that open troop door.)

Rep.Issa should have O'Reilly recalled before he has an "accident," as many of the people who surrounded Bill and Hillery Clinton have had over the years which can be found on the Alamo-Girl site.

O'Reilley will be taken out by a "enemy" sniper.

If Holder and Obama were smart, they might be able to make it look like the whole thing was a plot cooked up between Newell and Hillary Clinton / the State Department. It would deflect blame from the DOJ and White house, and remove Hillary as a potential challenger in 2012.

Holy carp, this is the first time I looked at those dates. MARCH!? They didn't lose any time, did they? (Sorry, I can't remember -- when was the 90% lie first uttered by this administration? They sure had their priorities!)

Also, Operation Wide Receiver seems to have been a failed attempt at gun tracing, not an experiment in gun walking. Or did Newell realize that one man's failure is another man's opportunity? His repetition of Wide Receiver WITHOUT RFID tags or other surveillance is a dead giveaway that he either learned nothing or he learned something completely unintended.

I have been following your blog for the last week or so. This is big. The gist of the story is that Federal agents let guns go to criminals to gin up statistics? I find this disgusting.

Our government and its people are out of control. Thanks for your work.

You have to wonder, at some point the Clintonista's, specifically hillary, when does it all catch up to her treason and tyranny?

I mean, here is a woman who is an undeniable tyrant, a person so full of her self, her superiority above others, where she has run rampant and free of responsibility for so many crimes and transgression of oath of office.

In a nut shell her hubris is obnoxious like only a tyrant queen can posses.

When CL Lewis wrote about the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland, he summed up hillary perfectly.

I find it funny but no longer shocking that people who previously denied any aspect of this operation, are now offering up the lowest members of the conspiracy, in the lowest numbers possible, in order to attempt to placate us and move past it as rapidly as possible. Accompanied by 7 to 14 'Ooops' explanations as to why this is a "botched" operation and not the TREASON, this it very CLEARLY is.

This is a typical action engaged in by persons who are attempting to evade responsibilies for the commission of TREASON, multipule counts of FELONY MURDER, in two countries that we know of and CONSPIRACY to commit both, as MINIMUM charges.

I guess I'd be trying to move things in other directions, with other outcomes too, If I were an involved party.

And make no mistake about it, congress and the senate want to let them off the hook. It's all a matter of how much they think we will accept as justice. The media will go along with what ever they decide.

This fits right in with the under mining of the Honduran Democratic government and giving
weapons to their Marxist opponents.

Oh Mike, Oh Mike,

You are really going to love the quote from Barry in his presser about even if there was no direct knowledge about operational workings, there still had to be accountability at the highest levels of the Iranian government.

I wish I had DVR so I could offer up the exact quote, but it is a Super Keeper and one that must be turned right back on him over GunWalker. For sure.

what would you bet that the schumer, mccarthy, feinstein gun ban clan all knew about f&f also?
I would imagine if their were a real investigation they all knew as well and were told to sit back and wait for the fruit to fall from the tree and then shout from the rooftops how a complete ban was way overdue.

Here's the video Ashrak was refering to.

I wonder if the bonehead knows that this will apply to him and Holder as well?

It will turn out to be a two'fer, O'Reilly is going down, killed by Qods...

The money shot is ;

We believe that even if at the highest levels there was not detailed operational knowledge, there has to be accountability with respect to anybody in the Iranian government engaging in this : Barry Sotero

We all know how much the Clinton family loves "assault weapons". It may take a few years for all the corruption to come out, but this entire administration considers itself above reproach and above the law.
