Change of Command

As many have observed, it would be a tragedy to simply let this blog go to archive.  This blog was the first of its kind dedicated to the principles of the three percent.  Mike, my father, started this blog with the intention to give himself a platform to educate and proselytize a very simple and profound message that no one should to bend a knee. Since its inception in 2009, Sipsey Street Irregulars has given a voice to a community of the last free men and women in this country.  This community has grown larger and flown higher than anyone could have dreamed.  People discovered that they were not alone.  This is a community stewards, not leaders.  Shepherds, not wolves. Mikes presence on this blog may have diminished but his message will not.  That is my charge and the promise I make to the community that has given him so much friendship and support over the years.  The voice on this blog will not go silent.

That's me.  I am not my father but I am my fathers son.  God only made one of him.  To say the least, the man can certainly turn a phrase.  The vision and clarity he gave us, dearly purchased over lifetime of street level advocacy, will be missed.  What I do have is his unwavering commitment to keep this blog and what he built alive and to advocate the founding intent of the III Percent.  I may fail some of you along the way.  I deeply apologize if I do.  I would ask that you give me some time to grow into these very big shoes that I need to fill.

Your father, God bless him, was instrumental in exactly the ways you say, for me, personally.
No one has a better chance of filling such shoes than you do, sir.

I am saddened by the current circumstances. I have said my prayers for your dad. His is and will be a unique voice in this troubled world. But I am sure that if you are his boy you'll do just fine. Just fine. God bless you and the rest of your family and God Bless your dad. Let him know that his words and sentiments will echo on for a very very long time.

I'm glad to hear that you'll be taking up the reigns, Daniel. Your fathers shoes will indeed be difficult to fill. The only advice I can give is not to try and become him. Let your own voice come though, and things will pan out.

Mike and Son ,
It is very unfortunate that a lot of the elders are leaving .But the Hope is that what they planted will grow and spring fourth a newer Generation to carry on the fight for freedom! Sadly, America is near its own Death ! Mike you will miss out on a lot of soon coming future misery and despair because it is coming .America will no longer be what you currently know . Everything has its time and place and for other reasons unknown .My thought here is that throughout human history Nations come to power and then fall . Nothing stays the same . Mankind has never been able to rule this world justly and live in a real civilized world . Governments have brought there own Nations destruction due to corruption on all levels which includes fraud, theft and using politics and legal systems to there own personal advantage and creating Wars to which bankrupts them .The upper class seems to think they just know what is best for everybody else and that includes making the others weak .Taking there rights and freedoms away and Taxing the shit out of them to keep them in the debt trap turning them to common surfs . The Attacks on gun ownership is just a prime example of many attacks upon the people. Once firearms are taken away thru laws or regulations or even martial law or some other form of control then the wolves will come down and prey on the people at will and with no recourse . The people will have no quarter ! Mike you may be going out at the right time because what is coming will be worse that what many can imagine . May your Son be guided and carry on the fight .Yes there will be battles lost but the focus is winning the War and carrying on ! The enemy is fast approaching and who will meet the enemy at the gates ?

Thank you, sir, your father is loved and appreciated. No one can take anyone's place, we can only step up and do what we can to fill the gap. Whatever you can do will be appreciated. The many posts on this blog have good words and valuable info and insight. Thanks for keeping it intact and moving forward.
My father was a quiet man, but his love and actions for the betterment of family and friends were among the loudest of anyone. I can't do what he did the way he did it but I remember him and know that his example is guiding me today. We are our father's son, just a little bit different.
Carry on, sir. Tell you Dad we'll see him in Heaven.

I am VERY happy to hear this news and God bless you for continuing your father's mission; he is a very great man. I had the honor and privilege of having lunch with him some time ago on one of his journeys. He has been an inspiration to me.

I read your Dad's blog every day, and checked it constantly for updates. I would see the option to "create your own blog" from blogspot.com and always toyed with the idea. When Sipsey Street Irregulars went quiet, I knew he was just too ill to continue. That's when I decided to begin writing my own blog, more focused on the State of Kommiecticut, but with inspiration from the great Dutchman himself. I appreciate his efforts more than I can express. I can only hope that someday, Southern Poverty Law Center will condemn me as well, and then I will just smile.

I don't agree with most of what your father's written. Coming from the dark side and all.. But I respect his honesty, his ability to turn a phrase, and his passion. Have read for 4 years, have learned, and am full of respect for him.
Best to you.. Put your soul here, as he does. Best to Mike, you, and your family.

God Bless and Good Luck with this Daniel. You could do worse than to re-read your old man's stuff from time to time. Yes, he could turn a phrase, but that can be learned. His clarity of vision thought, and his willingness to put it on the line to share it is what set him apart. But you have seen, up close and personal, that it can be done. Big shoes, yes, but they did not start out as big as they became. ;)
Decide early on what your standards are, what you will compromise, and what you will not, and continue to review and refine them (even Old Ben Franklin did that), and you will find that your feet will fit larger shoes of your own.
So many of us that you have never heard of or from are here rooting for the message to continue.
Press on!

I know it won't help but at the core of my eulogy for my Dad was a paraphrase of

something like
"I will not mourn that this man has passed from our fellowship to fellowship with our Lord God and the Saints, I will thank God that such a man lived and I had the Honor to call him Dad.

I thank God that a man like your Dad saw the need to call out what is going on in our republic

Dear Mr. Vanderboegh:

Col. Cooper quoted the ancients as saying that the three things required of a young prince were to be able to ride, shoot straight and speak the truth. Move, shoot and communicate. Some things never change.

And some things do. That is the nature of the cycle of life. Your father will be very greatly missed, Matthew, but I have no doubt that you, his son and heir, will be a worthy successor, and that you have the potential to make as great a mark on events as he did, possibly greater. Speaking the truth these days is a revolutionary act, and those who do so in support of Liberty are all too rare.

This is a war of ideas, and Sipsey Street has been effective as an intellectual bastion of freedom since your father established it. It is very good to know that it will continue to be such.

Best regards, Historian

Thank-you Matt. I also have been worried for the potential loss of Sipsey Street Irregulars. Mike's voice has been a voice of reason, a moderating influence to stop the hotheads from lashing out against the oppressors, who seek to enslave the United States. A 'Fort Sumter' event in these days of extreme polarizing strife could easily turn the public against the cause of liberty. His articulate call to adhere to the principles of the III, while refusing to back up one more step has been a banner to rally around. I am sorely disappointed to see your father unable to continue in this task, but, I am greatly encouraged to see you, the son, take on the mantle for the next generation. Peace be with you, according to the peace of the Lord of Heaven. Prayers for your father are daily, prayers of help for you in taking up his work will begin immediately.

FSHB

PS - Regarding 'Absolved', I would encourage you to ask your father to follow the example that Robert Jordan set with his book series when it became apparent there was a chance that he would not be able to complete them. With help, he compiled notes on the entire series including the ending books which had not been written. He told the entire story to two of his close family. He gave a short list of approved authors who he trusted to complete the work. Eventually Brandon Sanderson was selected by his heirs to complete the series, and Sanderson did a fabulous job of completing the work while remaining true to the tone, tenor and language of the series.

This is getting pretty long for a comment in a blog. I'll email this to you also.
