Cartoon demonization of gun owners recalls an earlier target

Inyenzi, a Kinyarwanda word meaning "cockroach," used to describe Tutsi by their Hutu murderers during the Rwandan genocide.

"This is an exhibit of pure bigotry. It’s every bit as evil and offensive as blood libel, and its done for the same purpose."

David recalls for us when the LA Times compared Second Amendment activists to cockroaches. The US News cartoon collection includes this one, which is not too far from the Nazi cartoon above.

That's a broad brush you are using. Obviously, the anti-gun movement includes both people who would exterminate, and people who would be horrified at the idea.

Well perhaps the peeps horrified at the idea will do more than the weak kneed, wussy Germans did when their fellow Jewish citizens were being rounded up into the camps. I am not holding my breath that those horrified at the idea of extermination of undesirables like gun owners these days will actually do anything. Maybe I will be proven wrong and these horrified at extermination gun controllers actually have some courage and prepare to engage in civil disobedience and even possibly violence in retaliation. Its awfully convenient though to let children, infants, and adults die from the "other political and ideological side".
