Time to feed the hogs anyway. Why doesn't he threaten us with something we're scared of? Bloomberg proposes a national police strike unless he gets more gun control laws.

"Police Officers Should Go On Strike If There Are No Gun Reforms.
"I don’t understand why police officers across this country don’t stand up collectively and say we’re going to go on strike, we’re not going to protect you unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what’s required to keep us safe,’" he told CNN’s Piers Morgan on Monday.
Along the lines of the soldier's prayer, "Oh, Lord, make my enemies arrogant and stupid." -- This is this week's winner of the Arrogant & Stupid Award. These Mandarins who live in an armed bodyguard bubble whenever they venture out of their taxpayer-paid Green Zones are unbelievable. This billionaire who bought his office in New York, a city with strict gun control that is currently experiencing a wave of shootings, wants to blackmail the American public by threatening us with a nationwide police strike?!? They're not going to protect US? Who's going to protect THEM? If the Constitution and the rule of law no longer protects the people, is it unreasonable for those people to conclude that the Constitution and the rule no longer protect such thugs operating under color of law as Bloomberg?
As far as Bloomberg threatening a police strike until he gets more of our traditional liberty and property, Why doesn't he threaten us with something we're scared of? For such an action will work no hardship on me and mine. Nine One One has never been more than a body retrieval and paperwork service. In those parts of the country where most of us "bitter clingers" live, a police strike will not work a hardship on us. It's a lot simpler to "Shoot, shovel, and shut up." We can wait until Mike's "Only Ones" get back from their unpaid holiday to tidy up the paperwork, if necessary.
And if you're not up to gravedigging, it's probably time to feed the hogs anyway.

Michael Bloomberg must feel awfully safe in the little world he inhabits.
This man could not have considered all possible ramifications of what he is suggesting, or, maybe he has and feels he would be very well insulated personally from the consequences.

Yawn...I'm no less safe with the cops absent. BUT, and this is an important point in the Mayor's world, there will be no one to make arrests for 32 oz sodas and excessive transfat consumption. Guess we'd better declare a state of emergency...

I believe Bloomberg and Michael Moore come from the same gene (cess)pool...

From the "it can't happen to me cuz I'm so special" department.

Mayor Bedbug needs to review what happened to three of Assad's top security thugs in their "green zone" in Damascus, Syria recently.

There is no such thing as air tight security. It's all a matter of who wants you dead and how badly.

As long as the cops go on strike, and NEVER come back, I'm all for it. Most couldn't find their ass with both hands anyway, and I could use the lower taxes.

What a freaking idiotic statement for the mayor of any major city to spew. I hope he is held personally accountable for any deaths related to cops walking off their jobs.

Point of information: there is a difference between "blackmail" and "extortion."

"Extortion and blackmail are similar in concept, but there are differences between the two. Extortion is a form of theft that occurs when an offender obtains money, property, or services from another person through coercion. To constitute coercion, the necessary act can be THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, OR IMPROPER GOVERNMENT ACTION. Inaction of the testimony or the withholding of testimony in a legal action are also acts that constitute coercion.

"Blackmail, in contrast to extortion, is when the offender threatens to reveal information about a victim or his family members that is potentially embarrassing, socially damaging, or incriminating unless a demand for money, property, or services is met."

Bloomberg should stage his own strike and see if anyone in his little fiefdom notices that he's gone. Better yet, let his bodyguards strike and hope that all of the right people notice.

While the pig strike might stop their "protection" racket, I'll bet it wouldn't stop the shakedowns (traffic stops, "stop and frisk", etc.). Can't let the people get too good a taste of liberty or they might realize what they've been missing.

The biggest safety issue with no cops around would be traffic. More people running stop signs, etc. Sure wouldn't make any other part of my life less safe. Blooomberg is not stupid, he's a liberty-hating Marxist.

Lets not beat around the fucking bush here. For the "elites",(who are anything but), this All comes down ultimately to guns. Everything these ruling class scumbags do revolves ultimately about guns. Why? Because simply, it is guns that give these pieces of human garbage their power. It is guns, in the hands of those that they fear will rise up against them, that they fear is a threat like nothing else. And they are correct. It is guns that if they are to take over our country, must control in order to rule with an iron fist. It is guns that they must take from the populous in order obtain that absolute power. It is guns they understand like none other are the real power behind anything. Especially Liberty! Guns are, in the greatest profound concept imaginable, the teeth of Liberty. For all the bullshit rhetoric about old fashioned outdated concepts of the founding of this here Republic of rule of law, the elites know the existential threat to their power, their very lives is embodied in the right to keep and bear arms. In no uncertain terms, it is, guns, force of arms our system of government now lives by. In a civil society, in a society based on the virtue and principles of reason, the government has no use for arms against the citizenry. A citizenry that regulates itself through natural order of natural law, liberty, and the creation of prosperity. But tyranny, the imposition of it, does. Tyranny, as you and I and those imposing know full well, grates on ones life prosperity and liberty like an abscessed tooth.
Ultimately, it is these very same guns they desire to take from the rest of us, that are behind that tyrannical power. Where the threat of escalation in establishment and continuation of that power gained through violation of the rule of law, are guns that they use to enforce everything if you refuse to submit.
So it is guns in the hands of We The People that they fear most. Something that which our founders understood from 1st hand experience. It was, it is, guns that are the ultimate bulwark against tyranny, and the only teeth contained in our natural order of the rule of law of our civil society of our Constitution. The legal, lawful power to abolish government, government not of our choosing or making, the one created by these same "elites", who strive never ending through decades and decades to take those guns from us all, a government that has now become destructive of the very ends it was designed to support.

Any thing else is a cheap side show.

It is the liberty to keep and bear arms that the tipping point balances. Not for a second do I think, if we had not that God given natural right to self defense, would there be a question of the day. I would not even have that freedom, it would not exist but for the arms I bear.

When the idea that the laws, regulations, imposed, laws outside the purview of the framework of rule of law of our founding blood, when the reality that what is good for the "elites" only applies to the "elites" begins to sink in to the minds of the middle class, all we have worked a life for, to be damned as bitter, racists, too rich, damned for clinging to our morality, our faith, our gospel of liberty, well the idea that the gun is all that's left of sovereign will, and these "elites" want that also, well, there is your tipping point.

It is good for these mandarins where they create a system of decrees where everyone is a criminal.
As the great megalomaniac put it so succinctly:
"Every Communist must grasp the truth, “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” "Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party."
– Mao Tse-tung
November 6, 1938

ah so Bloomberg-san!

Here's the thing about the Bloomberg statement that amazes me: He is making it very clear that police protection can go away on a whim at a moments notice. If anything makes the point that we need to be able to take care of ourselves, this is it. Thanks, Mike, you are the best enemy we ever had. (Of course, we all know the police have no duty to protect, anyway. But this statement just drives the point home for slow readers.)

Mt Top Patriot said...

Chairman Mao Tse-tung, as does Bloomberg, had it ass backwards. Every believer in Liberty must grasp the truth, our personal sovereignty and our sovereign lawful will exists ultimately through the barrel of our guns. Our principle is if the Liberty to protect ourselves, our loved ones, our property, is prohibited, if peaceful redress is prohibited, then violent redress becomes a matter of fact, and a matter of our survival as free men.
The gun becomes the most legitimate form of Liberty that exists.

Question: who'd protect Bloomberg if the cops walked off the job?

2nd question: who'd stop average residents of NYC from getting guns if the cops walked off the job?

In September 1919, more than half of the Boston Police Department went on strike for better pay and working conditions, gambling that the government would meet their demands. The Massachusetts National Guard was still in Federal service for WWI duty and were not available. The Massachusetts State Guard, a self-armed and equipped, uniformed, well-regulated state militia not subject to Federalization and formed from the citizens of Massachusetts along with other citizen volunteers such as the college students of the metropolitan Boston area augmented the BPD officers who did not strike. At the end of the strike, the striking officers were fired, a precedent used by President Reagan with the PATCO air traffic controllers strike. The decisive actions of Massachusetts Governor Calvin Coolidge in 1919 helped get him nominated as Vice President during Harding's run for office of President. Coolidge served as President following Harding's death in office and was elected President at the following election.

Speaking of "Only Ones", Bloomberg sent some of his staffers into Pennsylvania to conduct straw purchases. Was he charged with conspiracy? No. The ATF was too busy walking guns into Mexico and trying to put Red's Trading Post out of business to go after the big Kahuna. I'm so sick of watching this so-called justice system give rich, connected, influential pricks a pass on crime. The FBI could have taken a shot at it, but, as headlines show, they were too busy creating domestic terror groups. With each passing year, America is starting to look more like Belarus.

If the NYPD goes on strike, then Bloomberg can pound his chest that he got more guns off the street. And he will be correct! Moron.

America's littlest dictator speaks again! Cops have families to go home to, but the rest of us don't!

That part about the "armor piercing bullets" is brain-meltingly insane. AP rounds are already illegal. Plenty of other people who aren't Only Ones wear vests.

No surprise though, a non-American (a slave) and an overseer sitting around saying that they can't understand why people don't want to further violate the constitutionally enumerated human rights of others.

Here is a recent example from the People's Republic of New Jersey:

"On March 8, Andres Garcia, 44, of Paterson, a convicted robber wanted for a parole violation, was fleeing police after a shoplifting incident in the mall. He grabbed Ellen Shane by her hair, pulled her away from her husband, held a knife to her throat and dragged her to the Sears store.

"As Garcia held her, uniformed Woodbridge police Officer Edward Barrett Jr. who was working a security detail at the mall, shot the parolee in the head."

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/06/woman_held_at_knifepoint_in_wo.html

The hostage is suing.

"Now the woman, Ellen Shane, 62, of Carteret, plans to sue the township for $5 million, claiming it failed to protect public safety and that she was injured as a result of the officer’s acts.

Both Shane and her husband, Ronald Shane, 'are suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome and both have been dramatized [sic] from this incident,' according to the tort claim notice filed by their lawyer, David Corrigan of Eatontown."

Perhaps Bloomberg's plan is to favor the murder of hostages so that NYC city may escape a similar lawsuit. ;^)
