Sipsey Street Exclusive: Investigators discover I.C.E. Report of Investigation on seizure of Fast & Furious weapons in Texas in August 2010 SIGNED BY JAIME ZAPATA!

Texas Congressman Michael McCaul grills Janet Napolitano, 15 February 2012.
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.): “Madam secretary, there’s been some speculation that the weapons used to kill Agent Zapata may have been possibly linked to Fast and Furious. Do you have any information to indicate there is a connection there?”
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano: “I have no information to that effect, no. I don’t know one way or the other.” -- Hearing before the House Homeland Security Committee, 15 February 2012.
Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Jaime Zapata and the scene of his ambush murder.
Congressional investigators permitted to view Department of Homeland Security documents related to the Fast and Furious operation have located and seen an Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Report of Investigation (ROI) from August 2010 describing 80 weapons seized in an arms smuggling interdiction between Phoenix, Arizona and San Antonio, Texas. Of these weapons, the majority (approximately 50) were noted to have come from Operation Fast & Furious in Arizona, purchased by Uriel Patino and Jacob Chambers. The ROI was written and signed by Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Jaime Zapata, who was shot dead in an ambush at a fake roadblock in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on 15 February 2011. At the time of the report, Agent Zapata was assigned to the Laredo office.
Two of the weapons found at the murder scene were later traced back to Texas -- One was purchased in August 2010 near Houston on behalf of accused drug dealer Manuel Gomez Barba, and the other in October 2010 by a Dallas trafficking ring that included Otilio Osorio and his brother Ranferi. Much like Fast and Furious, both groups had been under ATF surveillance for many months, although ATF officials in Texas later denied that any gunwalking happened in their state. United State Senator John Cornyn has pressed Eric Holder and DOJ for details on any gunwalking in Texas. So far, he has been met with denials or silence.
The Department of Homeland Security, ICE and the Department of Justice have long denied that the case of Jaime Zapata had anything to do with Fast and Furious. The discovery of this ROI by Zapata, "puts the lie to that (expletives deleted) by Napolitano and Holder," according on source who spoke with this reporter on conditions of absolute anonymity.
Multiple sources including current and former employees of the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security have confirmed this explosive new revelation in the Fast & Furious investigation. Said one source, "I think (DHS) is covering up something big." He added, "I feel betrayed."
At the time of Agent Zapata's death, President Obama declared "The United States will work with Mexico to bring the assailants to justice." For her part, Janet Napolitano avowed: "Let me be clear: Any act of violence against our ICE personnel — or any DHS personnel — is an attack against all those who serve our nation and put their lives at risk for our safety."
One source indicated his frustration that neither DHS nor the FBI have come under scrutiny for what they know about gunwalking operations and the murders of Agent Zapata and Border Patrol BORTAC Team member Brian Terry.
Said another, "DHS walked away and pretended that this was Holder's problem," adding "If they didn't know, they should have known."
The revelation of the existence of Agent Zapata's August 2010 ROI should serve to bring more scrutiny to Janet Napolitano and her knowledge of gunwalking and the murders of Zapata and Terry, despite her previous denials under oath.
According to sources, both DHS and DOJ are "in a deep panic" that "their carefully contrived cover-up is breaking down," in the words of one.
Early morning inquiries to the offices of Congressman McCaul and Senator Cornyn for comment have not, as yet, been answered. This is not their fault, as I have had to push up the post time for this article out of concern for being scooped by other news organizations which I know are cognizant of this story. Their comments will form the basis of a follow-up story.
(Reporter's note: This may be the most important story I've written this year, and once again I ask my readers to help me get the truth out around the roadblock of the dinosaur media. If you believe that this story is as important as I do, please forward it to your Senators and Congressmen, demanding that they widen the investigations of Obama administration gunwalking to Janet Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security.)
LATER: David Codrea's take.
“We are at a critical juncture here,” (Vanderboegh) tells Gun Rights Examiner. “You need to let your readers know that, and ask them to once again call their congressmen, especially if they’re on the [House Oversight and Government Reform] Committee, to beat them up and make them aware there will be a political price for not voting for contempt.”
“The next few days are where we’ve got to pull out all the stops,” he adds. “Hit everybody up, including the press. I don’t care how many times--if they’re in a position to influence things, just keep beating on the subject until they’re sick of hearing about it.”

Before it could be argued the ambush on Zapata was coincidence or chance, maybe a gang attracted by the appearance of his vehicle without really knowing who was inside it. It's looking more and more like someone targeted Zapata specifically BECAUSE he was intercepting so many firearms (80 in total for this seizure alone, 50 of which were F&F weapons).

.....Or Zapata was targeted in early 2011 because he knew about F & F guns killing Brian Terry in December 2010 and he wasn't going to stay quiet about the whole operation anymore!

Prayers continue for your health and safety, Mike.

I'm ashamed to say that both of my state's senators voted to confirm Holder. As a result, they have the blood of agents Terry and Zapata (and that of many foreign nationals)on their hands.

Mike, are you changing the subject here? What happened to the other whistleblowers you've hinted at? Also, please stop posting Codrea's take on your stuff as something new on your site. That's weak. If by this post you're implying that guns walked from Texas and this is the proof, say so. If you're implying that Janet fibbed under oath, say so. OTOH, if you're saying Zapata was killed because he had personal knowledge of Texas gunwalking, then you better really back that up. Or retract, because you haven't shown the evidence here.

Dead men tell no tales. Nappy the clown and Holder are psychopaths pure and simple. That is why they hold the positions they do in the obama administration. These are the kind of crazy son of a bitches you have to have in key appointments within the structure of government to assist in the overthrow of our Republic. Having Zapata liquidated by means of the same weapons, and the drug syndicates you have been using to create the crisis you require as the means to disarm American's is in no doubt a continuation of the Waco rules.
Nothing can be put past these monsters hiding in plain sight within our government. There are no such thing as coincidence with these hoodlums in government drag.
In fact, there is no difference between the drug cartels they equipped, and themselves, except they have the press, most of congress, the federal court system as willing complicit partners.
Makes you wonder just how deep the rabbit hole goes. It is beyond doubt, this all is only the tip of the iceberg. How many of these operatives, from holder and nappy the clown on down, are dirty in regards to Oklahoma City, Waco etc. I mean these bums have been skulking around in the federal government for years. Dirt bags like these just don't all of a sudden pop up within the power structure of the feds. Notice how it is also convenient these are scumbags who are unaccountable to we the people, they operate under the autonomous umbrella of the executive branch.

Janet Napolitano did not get his/her position due to competence; he/she got it by being evil. Napolitano was seen to be faithful in carrying Obama's bathwater and no lie was too big, or too small, for her to speak. If congressional investigators play this right, heads will roll. I'll pray for them.

First things first:

You have done a tremendous job, putting together this Fast and Furious criminal activity; if it weren't for you, this story would have long disappeared.

I agree with the comment #1; in my gut I have a strong suspicion that Zapata was intentionally targeted. As far as these criminals have taken this to cover up,I just can't put nothing past them.

God forbid - I don't want to this be true.

RKV finds my reporting wanting:

Perhaps you should go to DC to conduct the investigation. My stories are limited by what my sources tell me, which I sift and compare with my previous knowledge of the case as well as the reliability of the sources themselves. I have nothing to retract, nor do I have to prove perfect knowledge of the subject. I only have to accurately report what I discover.

You are welcome, of course, to try this on your own. Perhaps you won't be so disappointed with the work product then.

Mike, I have a day job. You by your own admission do not. So no, I'm not going to Mordor to track this down. What I do advise is that you stick to the proved facts, which are damning enough on their own. If you've got suspicions label them as such is all I ask. You and David have done a bunch of great work and hung tough. Don't blow it now.

Thanks Mike - this is hot. Napolitano "never talked to Holder" even though she knows he has been accused of a program that resulted in the deaths of two of her agents. Anyone who believes that crap should criticize you for doing such a great job. I am so disgusted by this administration on any subject you can name. And many thought Bush was bad!

What I didn't get is why gunners don't see how the Drug War is a direct threat to their interests.

F&F would be impossible without Drug Prohibition. And yet the gun blogs are almost totally silent on the issue.

Good work, Mike.
You are a hero and a patriot.

So if Jaime Zapata knew this much about Fast and Furious in August, 2010, how much did ICE Agent Lane France know?

Janet?

Simon says :
""why gunners don't see how the Drug War is a direct threat to their interests.""

The reasons are myriad , racism and classism are both major factors ,but over 90 years of constant propaganda is a good portion of it . It is important to remember that it isnt so much a war on drugs as it's a war on "those people". No less so than smug Fudds find an AWB appealing because they truly believe anyone that thinks they "need" an AR or AK is just a wannabe soldier suffering from micropenis , and delight in their plight .

The lid is off and the effort to create a spin off RKBA War from the Drug War is more than obvious . This has resulted in a surge of converts in this past year , even among LEO's .
However -
The drug war is so exquisitely compartmentalized and spread out amongst so many fiefdoms , the Sinaloans can build a border fence fence for us with stacks of dead bodies (and blame it on the Zetas)and many would still not see any connections to the lessons of Prohibition I .

Funny how the war on drugs and indeed the war on guns never quite seem to reach hollywood and laurel canyon, festering sores full of both illegal firearms and self-admitted druggies like ashton kurcher and a legion of other "role models".

Total disconnect on the issues.

But fundraisers for the black caesar- THAT they can do.
