Jeffrey Denning at The Washington Times - a Promotional Video at LamperdLessLethal.com proposes an "Electronic ID Bracelet", to be worn by all air travelers. It would serve as a boarding pass, a tracking device, and would have a built-in taser-like shock capability, that could be triggered by airline personnel. They are offering this as a possibility to the US Gestapo (Department of Homeland Security). This is apparently an old idea; the video mentions 2003, but it's getting enough press now that Lamperd is remarking on the increase in bandwidth to their site. From this news blurb on their site:

We wish to clear up any misconceptions regarding the EMD Safety Bracelet for Airline Security.

The bracelets remain inactive until a hijacking situation has been identified. At such time a designated crew member will activate the bracelets making them capable of delivering the punitive measure - but only to those that need to be restrained. We believe that all passengers will welcome deliverance from a hijacking, as will the families, carriers, insurance providers etc. The F-16 on the wingtip is not to reassure the passengers during a hijacking but rather to shoot them down. Besides activation using the grid screen, the steward / stewardess will have a laser activator that can activate any bracelet as needed by simply pointing the laser at the bracelet - that laser dot only needs to be within 10 inches of the bracelet to activate it.

I, for one, will never wear such a thing. If anyone ever insists that I don one, I will likely become extremely violent.

I'm sick of the Taking Scissors Away goons. I would love to see 1,000 riflemen and riflewomen, one early morning, enter 100 major US airports, 10 shooters per airport, each armed with a .308 semi-automatic rifle with at least one 20-round magazine. Their mission would be to fire those 20 rounds into as many TSA agents as possible, and into anyone who tried to stop them. If we were lucky, there would be 10,000 dead goons, and the rest of them might be less than eager to go back to work the next day.
