This site is for my Review & Build of modern 1/350 scale aircraft carrier strike groups of the major sea powers. This includes built/building-BLUE/PURPLE, purchased & unbuilt-GREEN, not purchased-GREY & unavailable (wish list)-RED. The French Group will be 1/400 scale by Heller. Also, Blue Ridge Models sent me their 1/350 USS Nautilus, SSN-571 & asked me to review & build it, which I did. It is also shown below.
FREETIME HOBBIES Blue Ridge, GA. Great online presence w/best inventory I've seen. If you have a question, just ask Brandon. HOBBY TOWN National chain. Good online presence, but there's a store near you. My grandsons love it & we visit there when we want it that day.

Jeff Head's Model Shop - Layout - Stash - Completed Models Updated: April 2, 2013
(Click on any picture in this section for a higher resolution image)

The Hobby Shop - My hobby shop has been created from a section of our master bedroom using ceiling height shelving as a wall to seperate the shop. These shelves hold the models which have already been built and will ultimately be replaced by wider shelves capable of holding Glassed-in Display Cases for each Model. These cases will either be custom built to all be the same, or purchased from a supplier that has the various sizes needed in the same style. The picture above shows the basics of the shop itself where a model building table is located, with shelving above, and a computer desk and computer for conducting research on the net to the right of the building/construction area.

The overall Shop, the containers holding the paints, glues, and putty, and the containers holding the tools.

Current paint brush holder (new brushes are stored in the desk drawer), shelves holding Rubber bands, Decals, Photo Etch Sets, and spare parts.

The Stash - Models purchased since the early 1990s, and many over the last two years for completion of my 1/350 Scale World-wide Carrier Strike Group (CSG) Project. These are to be built over the next several years and they line the two upper shelves across the whole length of the building/construction table, and then underneath the table as well. These include 1/350 scale ships and 1/72 scale aircraft.

The entire upper two shelves of the stash.

The British and Japanes CSGs. For the UK it is the Hobby Boss HMS Astute SSN, the Airfix HMS Trafalgar SSN, Two Trumpter Duke Class FFGs, Two Airfix Daring Class DDGs, and the Airfix HMS Illustrious. For the Japanese, it's the Pit Road, JMSDF Hakurya SSK, the Trumpeter JMSDF Takanami DDG, two Trumpeter Atago DDGs, and the Fujimi JMSDF Hyuga DDH.

Also shown for the Chinese is the Bronco Chinese Yuan SSK, the Trumperter Chinese Shenyang DDG and the Trumpeter Ningbo DDG. As soon as a 1/350 scale model for the Chinese Type 071 LPD comes out, I will buy two of them and crate the Chinese PLAN ARG. Next to that are several extra sets of 1/350 scale aircraft for the Russian carrier, a set of KA-31 AEW helicopters, and four sets of Mik-29K aircraft.
