Dry Hydrant

The pond about 1/2 mile from my house is one of two sources of open water nearby. The other is about a mile away, in the other direction on the city road, a fire pond that they dug a few years back. Both have dry hydrants, pipes submerged in the water with a hose-ready connector easily available to a pumper truck. The photos below are of the dry hydrant at the pond.
