Sarah Palin's Acceptance Speech

I watched Governor Palin's acceptance speech for the Vice Presidential ticket with presidential wannabe John McCain at MSNBC. The New York Times has a transcript, (and another video). It was a good speech. She speaks well. Very forthright and honest sounding. Down to earth. But she said one thing that stuck in my craw, that, if she really believes it, makes her unworthy of holding any office anywhere. Talking about Barak Obama:

America needs more energy; our opponent is against producing it. Victory in Iraq is finally in sight, and he wants to forfeit. Terrorist states are seeking nuclear weapons without delay; he wants to meet them without preconditions.

Al Qaida terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America, and he's worried that someone won't read them their rights.

That's the neocon premise. To protect us from "terrorists", we have to restrict everyone's rights.

Let me tell you, Mrs. Palin. If you and Mr. McCain win the election in November, and your administration treads one inch further in the direction of denying any person on the planet the absolute right to be considered innocent until proven guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt, no matter what their alleged crime, then you are the terrorist, and I will curse you to hell.
