Honda CH80 Elite Moped

Well, I got my scooter. It took over an hour at the dealer. Got my insurance ID cards on his computer. Packed it into the back of our van, and drove the hour to the registry. Lady there told me that insurance was dated tomorrow, the earliest that Geico would give me, so I couldn't register until tomorrow. So now I get to spend another 2.5 hours to pay the state its filthy lucre. Oh, joy! Bike's fun, though. Drags my 250 pounds up my fairly steep hill, just barely.

Scooter Moped...

I'm glad you have joined the scooter/moped club Bill!! I bought mine late winter this year (chinese) and so far I'm happy with the results. I wished to have gotten a used one like yourself that is proven to work and parts readily available. Smooth riding my friend, nothing beat 80mpg !!!

I don't know you, but I found your website by searching "ch80" on google. I was wondering how fast you get your CH80 going with you on it? I weigh about 230 and only get up to about 42 mph. I don't know anyone else with a Ch80 so I'm trying to figure out what a normal speed is. I have a friend that weighs 180 and gets it to 45 on flat ground.

If I'm going max speed then I dont need to worry about the basics, but I want to find some cheap upgrades to make it hit 50 mph easier.

I've also posted a service manual for all the CH80 owners on my website for free. You can check it out at http://cashville.net

40 MPH top speed

I weigh 250. Mine will go about 40 on flat ground. A little faster downhill. About 20 up the big hill out of town.

I downloaded your service manual a week or so ago, to learn how to remove the rear wheel to fix a flat. I failed. Couldn't make it budge with my fairly-long-handled 24mm wrench. So I took it to my local mechanic. Haven't heard from him yet, but hopefully his impact wrench will do the trick.

Ya, I had to use my impact

Ya, I had to use my impact wrench to remove my rear wheel to replace my brakes.

I don't know how you would do it without one. You would have to some how put a block of wood or something in there to hold it still. Seems like it would be almost impossible.

You can buy a hammer operated impact wrench for about $30 at most hardware stores. That can get it started.

The web site linked above for the manual returns blank pages for me. I know I downloaded it, but I can't find my copy. You can get a PDF for $10 at http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/99636394-download-now-honda-ch80-ch-80-elite
