# The Liberty Committee - National ID, database and more (H.R. 10) - if you believe in talking to your Congress critter, tell him/her now to oppose H.R. 10, the "9/11 Recommendations Implementation Act". I modified their suggested message to read as follows and sent it off to John Sweeney.
I strongly urge you to vote "no" on H.R. 10.

I oppose the establishment of a national ID card and the creation of a national database of personal information on American citizens.

I also oppose the sections of H.R. 10 that would integrate our foreign policy with the U.N. (section 4032) and the creation of a U.S. "ambassador-at-large" to work with nongovernmental organizations or NGOs.

H.R. 10 is 500 pages of liberty-robbing tyranny. It brings the country one large step closer to violent revolution. Don't support it. Or at least wait a month to give us time to read it and separate the good ideas (blast-proof cargo carriers on airplanes) from the bad (national ID, centralized database, centralized employment approval, etc., etc.).

# Downsize DC - Stop National ID Database - more on H.R. 10. I contacted Sweeney via this page as well.

HR 10 legislates the creation of a national ID database that will contain the name and personal information of every person in America. It also standardizes state drivers licenses to pave the way for a national ID card. Worse yet, it authorizes the Attorney General to force businesses to submit information about job applicants to the government for approval, and even to give the government fingerprints and other biometric information.
