ASSOCIATION OF DISTINGUISHED AMERICAN SCIENTISTS

POB 1472
Huntsville, AL 35807

The Association of Distinguished American Scientists is a tiny, tax-exempt, non-profit 501c(3) foundation incorporated in the State of Washington.  It was founded in the 1960s by Dr. John Hubbard, meteorologist for the original atomic bomb test team, and other atomic scientists from that team.  From its inception until his death in 1992, Dr. Hubbard was the President of the Association.  Upon Dr. Hubbard's untimely passing, LTC (Retired) T.E. Bearden was elected President, and together with the Board moved the archives of the Association to Huntsville, Alabama.

The membership of the Association is restricted to those scientists and inventors who are awarded the Distinguished Scientist Award by the Association.

Our present efforts are focused toward unification of the major disciplines of science, namely classical EM (CEM), general relativity (GR), and quantum mechanics (QM).  Since these three main disciplines are presently inconsistent with each other, our approach has been to examine the foundations concepts and postulates of each of the three.  We believe we have uncovered major flaws in their foundations, and that these flaws—particularly in the foundations of CEM—have heretofore prevented (1) successful extraction of electrical energy from the vacuum, (2) engineerable antigravity, (3) an extension of EM to provide a basis for developing therapeutic treatment and cures of dread diseases such as cancer and AIDS, along the lines pioneered by Prioré, and (4) an engineerable, testable theory of mind, thought, and deep cellular control in living systems.  In short, we believe we have uncovered an approach not just to extended, unified EM/GR/QM, but also to a testable unified theory of mind and matter and their interaction.

For some years ADAS exerted effort to uncover the basis for secret Soviet weapons development in the extended CEM area.  That effort reached a highpoint in the mid 1990s, and has continued at a lower level since then.  We intensified our efforts with regards to "free" energy (from a hidden, "free" source, the quantum mechanical vacuum), antigravity, and extended time-polarized EM wave healing foundations.  We are trying to establish a firm basis for these three areas, and we believe we have made slow but steady progress.

The Foundation is very minimally funded each year by small donations from a few benefactors.  No officer or director of the Association draws any salary whatsoever.  All funds received are disbursed directly on official projects, and at least 85% or more of the funds received are expended in the same year received.

A major part of our effort is the preparation of scientific papers for distribution by the Association, and papers for presentation at scientific and technical symposia and workshops.  We have participated in producing the first audited unconventional energy data base in existence (under auspices of the Planetary Association for Clean Energy (PACE) in Ottawa, Canada—which was in turn under contract to the Canadian Government.  In addition, our President has worked with, or maintained a relationship with, several inventors and many scientists in the overunity energy area.

Contrary to classical electrodynamics assumption, generators and batteries do not use their available internal energy to power their external circuit, but only to perform work on their own internal charges, separating them to form the source dipole connected to their terminals.  As is well-known in particle physics, any dipole is a broken 3-symmetry in its violent energetic exchange with the active vacuum.  This means that the source dipole—once formed in the generator or battery—transduces some of the unusable virtual flux energy—continuously absorbed from the vacuum—into real, 3-space, observable EM energy and pours it out in all directions.

We have continued to refine this concept, to show that the ubiquitous closed current loop circuit restores symmetry to the system during its discharge of its free excitation.  We also explored gauge freedom, well-known in gauge field theory, to show that electrodynamics rigorously permits the potential energy of an EM system to be changed freely and at will.  It can then be shown that an electrical power system is permissible which (1) outputs more energy than the operator inputs (the excess is freely received by the source dipole's broken symmetry from the active vacuum), and (2) powers itself and its load simultaneously (all the energy is received from the vacuum via the source dipole's broken symmetry).

A replicable example of an overunity process is the fiber fuse effect in fiber optics cables, as detailed by Russell.  Another is the Bohren experiment, which outputs some 18 times as much energy as the operator inputs.

As is well known in particle physics, the CPT theorem allows any two symmetries (e.g., charge and time) to be broken, but not all three at once.  This means that theoretically charge conservation can be violated in a local electrical system if that system is brought out of VPF exchange equilibrium with the vacuum, but a change will also occur—at least partially in the time direction of flow for that system.

By removing the arbitrary Lorentz symmetrical self-regauging condition self-enforced by the closed current loop circuit during its excitation discharge, an electrical system of overunity coefficient of performance (COP) is indeed permissible by the known laws of physics, and by the thermodynamics of systems far from equilibrium in their active environmental exchange.  However, at least one portion of that device must violate CEM theory, since the Lorentz-regauged Maxwell-Heaviside CEM model is a locally energy conservative model and during system excitation discharge it specifically excludes the disequilibrium condition required for overunity.

There are serious flaws in CEM theory which contribute to preventing overunity electrical operation of circuits built in accord with the CEM model.  The energy flow theory, discovered independently by Heaviside and Poynting, is particularly fouled.  The vast nondiverged Heaviside energy flow component surrounding every EM circuit but wasted, has not been accounted for since being arbitrarily discarded by the Lorentz integration procedure.  This neglected "dark (unaccounted) energy" flow is nominally several trillion times as large in magnitude as the feeble Poynting diverged component intercepted and utilized by the circuit.

The greatest error with respect to overunity EM circuits is the treatment of the potential's magnitude as its own scalar reaction cross section.  This is false; the scalar potential itself is a multivectorial, multiwave entity as Whittaker showed in 1903.  The scalar EM potential is in fact a set of dynamic, longitudinal EM wave energy flows where the energy flow symmetry is in 4-space, with the energy flowing in to the dipolarity prescribing the potential, from the time domain (complex plane), and flowing out from the dipole in real 3-space as real EM energy.  Any dipolarity is a broken symmetry in 3-space energy flow, obeying this more primary 4-symmetry energy flow.  Any scalar EM potential contains infinite energy, even the potential across the electrodes of a flashlight battery.  However, it contains a finite energy density, and that energy density (in joules per coulomb) that may be collected from the infinite potential by a fixed amount of charge in a circuit is the value normally calculated and erroneously used by CEM for the "scalar potential's magnitude. " Again, we are taught to calculate the reaction cross section of the potential, and erroneously call that the potential's magnitude.  Instead, it is only the local intensity of the potential's longitudinal 4-symmetry EM longitudinal wave flow at a point.  Further, all EM energy comes from the time domain, when Whittaker's 1903 paper is properly interpreted.

Since the potential is actually an energy flow process, one can extract an infinite amount of energy from any potential source, so long as current is not allowed to flow in a closed loop back inside the source to do internal work to destroy its source dipole.  To collect the outpouring EM energy, however, an external "charge collector," must be used, and this collector contains only a finite amount of charge.  So a finite charge (collector) will extract (collect) only a finite amount of energy from the potential in each separate collection.  The Director participated in an AIAS paper, published in Physica Scripta, giving more than a dozen methods of approaching COP>1.0 electromagnetic systems.  The Director wrote half the paper.

To further illustrate the type of effort ADAS does: In 1991 we sponsored the preparation and presentation of two key papers in absentia to the 1991 Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference (IECEC 91), and the papers are bound in the Proceedings.  One of these presented the results of an overunity device, as well as a successful antigravity experiment.  The second paper discussed the errors in CEM, GR, and QM foundations, told what to do to correct those flaws, and presented a concept for testably unifying physics along those lines.  In 1992 we prepared and distributed over the Internet a fundamental paper on the foundations of scalar EM.  In 1992 we presented another fundamental paper to IECEC 92, and it also is bound in the Proceedings.  That paper redefined some of the foundations concepts in CEM and physics.  In early 1993 we prepared, produced, and distributed worldwide a technical but simplified paper on overunity electrical processes.

In March 1993, after nearly 14 years work on the Prioré mechanism, we finally "broke" the mechanism and presented a fundamental paper proposing an entirely new, long-term cumulative mechanism for EM effects on biological systems.  It proposed a new definition of cancer and a new long-term cumulative causative mechanism for the disease, as well as a proposed definitive new method of treatment and cure, a method which was formally demonstrated by Prioré to cure terminal tumors in laboratory animals in the late 1960s and early 1970s.  An explanation for the Prioré mechanism was included in the paper.  The presentation was at the Alabama Academy of Science's Annual Meeting and Conference at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  Additional papers and deeper technical explanations of the Prioré effect, as well as extensions to it, have been steadily published, e.g , in the journal Explore and others.

In 1999 and 2000, we derived a fundamental new EM energy mechanism and eventually published a paper giving the novel giant negentropy of any dipolarity, due to its broken 3-symmetry.  In the paper we also solved the long-vexing problem of the source charge and its association with its fields and potentials and the enormous energy therein.

We also published a paper re-emphasizing the neglected enormous Heaviside nondiverged energy flow component surrounding every circuit, but not intercepted by the circuit and just wasted.  In the paper we nominated this enormous unaccounted dark energy component surrounding every field/charge interaction as the source of the excess gravity holding the arms of the spiral galaxies together.

Also, with inventor John Bedini's permission, we published a paper explaining his overunity process whereby he is able to form a negative resistor in a storage battery powering a circuit, then dephase the battery ion current internally between the plates from the electron current from the outside of the plates into the external circuit, so that the system charges its battery while powering its load, all the energy being received freely from the active vacuum via the Bedini negative resistor effect.

Each year the Association also gives three or more Distinguished Scientist Awards to outstanding scientists and inventors.  Examples of our awards have included:

Dr.  Richard Ziolkowski, for his independent rediscovery of the Whittaker bidirectional EM wave structure of the scalar potential, extending that work to include the product set, and his pioneering efforts in the field of localized waves and electromagnetic missiles,

Dr.  Terence Barrett, for his exposition of the effects of higher topology mathematics for extending electromagnetics, his perception of the two cerebral hemispheres as an interferometer, and his pioneering efforts in the field of ultrawideband radars,

Dr.  Patrick Bailey, for his tireless efforts in organizing an Innovative Section on energy for IECEC, several other conferences, and his continuing efforts in advancing the emerging field of overunity open-loop electrical systems that extract EM energy from the quantum mechanical vacuum,

Dr.  Myron W.  Evans, for his co-discovery of the B(3) field, who is presently advancing non-Abelian electrodynamics by using topological derivation of the fields and a gauge theoretic approach, with O(3) gauge symmetry, that has now become an important subset of Sachs' unified field theory.  We also recognized his significant contributions to science in more than 500 scientific papers and reference scientific volumes in the literature;

Dr.  Richard Feynman, Nobel Laureate, posthumously for his outstanding work as a physics teacher and his inspiration to countless young physicists, in addition to his co-development of quantum electrodynamics for which he received the Nobel Prize,

Dr.  Williard Gibbs, posthumously for his co-development along with Heaviside and Hertz of the vector mathematics subset of Maxwell's quaternion electrodynamics, and for his significant contributions to thermodynamics,

Dr.  John Hubbard, for great scientific service to his nation, his studies in scientific weather engineering, and his scientific achievements as the meteorologist on the original atomic bomb project,

T.E. Bearden, Lt.  Col. , U.S.  Army (Retired) for advancing a fundamental correction to and extension of 3-law Aristotelian logic, with an extension to five laws.  The extended logic has practical use in resolving ordinary logical paradoxes, including in science.  It has led to perhaps a more fundamental understanding of the observation process itself,

Nikola Tesla, posthumously for his many inventions including the rotating magnetic field that made modern electrical motors and generators practical.  Also for his experimental discovery of the longitudinal EM wave.  It can be shown that Maxwell's theory, e.g., omits half the EM wave in vacuum, and thus omits the electrodynamic generatrix of the Newtonian third law reaction,

Dr. Herman W. Jones, Captain, U.S. Navy (Retired) for his long years of humanitarian service in nonprofit scientific organizations, for his military service to his country, and for his documentation of the life of Nikola Tesla,

Inventor John Bedini, for his discovery of forming negative resistors in storage batteries, thus dephasing the battery's internal ion current from the plate-to-external circuit electron current, and producing and demonstrating self-powering, open electrical systems far from thermodynamic equilibrium, using energy extracted from the vacuum,

Joseph Gamble, inventor, for his invention of a special and unique method of photography which uses the difference frequency between IR and UV (the dark spectrum usually occupied by visible light).  Since the UV superposes on the IR as a first harmonic, a most unusual result is that this method is sometimes able to exhibit a sort of amplification of virtual state forms (Whittaker structures) so that they can be photographed in their otherwise invisible state.  Unfortunately, as a result of injuries suffered long before in WW II in the defense of his country, Gamble died before his important invention could be perfected,

Benjamin Franklin, posthumously for his discovery that lightning was electricity, his contributions to early electrical knowledge, and his many inventions including eyeglasses and the Franklin stove,

Dr. Andrija Puharich, for his rigorous scientific studies of psychokinesis, which then inspired other physical scientists such as Dr.  Hal Puthoff and Dr.  Russell Targ of SRI to perform such rigorous experiments.  These experiments did demonstrate positive results under impeccable laboratory conditions, although the fundamental active mechanism involved has remained elusive and no convincing theoretical model has been forthcoming,

Inventor William J.  Fogal, for his invention of the novel Fogal semiconductor, which has higher topology electrodynamic functions enabling infolding and outfolding of EM signals inside and out of ordinary EM carriers, and has also shown promise in preliminary superluminal communications demonstrated to a DoD agency,

Dr.  Robert Becker, for his outstanding and still unique research of the cellular regeneration system in living biological systems, and for his courage in being one of the first scientists to show and advocate that weak EM signals comprising a dense signal environment can induce detrimental physical changes in living systems.  For this work, Dr.  Becker was nominated three times for the Nobel Prize, but incurred the wrath of the establishment.  His pioneering regenerative system study, however, was an essential part of comprehending the novel healing mechanism utilized unknowingly by Antoine Prioré and an impeccable French scientific team working with him, and

A separate award was made posthumously to Dr. Antoine Prioré, French inventor and scientist with two U.S.  patents, who discovered how to extend nonlinear phase conjugate optics in a practical manner, and extend it to lower frequencies, so as to amplify the time-domain pumping mechanism used by the living biological organism to restore its damaged cells by gradually time-reversing them back to a previous healthy condition.  Dr.  Prioré's work will eventually initiate for the first time a complementary true medical science of direct cellular healing, in addition to the present science of medical intervention.

This gives some insight into the work of our small foundation.  We have only minimal funding, but we believe that (1) there still remain some formidable problems with the present models utilized by science, (2) the unsuspected shortcomings in these models are the major barriers to the emergence of a new and revolutionary unification, and (3) by rigorously examining the foundations concepts and postulates of these accepted models, we may uncover the major flaws for correction and substantial scientific advancement.  We expend our funds and a great deal of effort on those goals.

We believe our work has made great progress, particularly with our participation in some 90 scientific papers by Fellows and Emeriti of the Alpha Foundation's Institute for Advanced Study.  These papers, e.g., are presently carried on a restricted Department of Energy website for reference by scientists, and many of the papers are published in leading journals such as Foundations of Physics, Physica Scripta, Optik, etc.

In September 2000 along with five other researchers, we briefed Senior Staffers of two U.S.  Senate Committees on the energy crisis and how to solve it permanently and quickly.  Another more lengthy briefing to a much larger group of representatives of the Senate, Congress, Department of Defense, and other agencies is scheduled for sometime in March or April 2001.  It is expected that this briefing, if successful, will result in formal public hearings on the energy crisis jointly by two Senate Committees.

Meanwhile, we continue to work vigorously toward solving the energy crisis, with several papers recently prepared by the Director and either published or accepted for publication.  The papers are:
