EM BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS:
INHIBITION OF MELATONIN

  • MELATONIN PRODUCED BY PINEAL GLAND AT NIGHT

    - REGULATES CIRCADIAN RHYTHMS
    - HAS ONCOSTATIC PROPERTIES (INHIBITS TUMORS)
    - USED IN CHEMOTHERAPY, PARTICULARLY AGAINST
      BREAST CANCER AND PROSTATE CANCER
    - CANCER PATIENTS USUALLY HAVE REDUCED LEVELS
    - REDUCED LEVELS CONTRIBUTE TO DEPRESSION,
      SEVERE MOOD CHANGES, PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS

  • PRODUCTION OF MELATONIN CONTROLLED BY AMOUNT
    OF LIGHT DETECTED BY RETINA

    - BLIND WOMEN HAVE GREATLY INCREASED LEVELS
    - BLIND WOMEN HAVE MUCH LESS BREAST CANCER
    - HIGHEST CANCER INCIDENCE IS BREAST CANCER
            - INCREASING IN INCIDENCE
            - INCREASING IN MORTALITY

  • EMF EXPOSURE INHIBITS NIGHTTIME PRODUCTION OF
MELATONIN.  SUCH SUPPRESION OF MELATONIN IS
IMPLICATED IN ETIOLOGY OF BREAST, PROSTATE,
    OVARIAN AND MELANOMA CANCER
