In the Vietnam War the United States murdered through indiscriminate bombing/shelling in South Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia about 68,500 people. An additional some 1,500 deaths were due to atrocities/massacres by ground troops. The most publicized example of this was the slaughter of around 500 people in the South Vietnamese village of Mylai. In the photo here is shown an old man trembling with fear so much that he could hardly walk. The photographer heard two shots by American soldiers when he left the man.
