Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States of America, was a political genius who perfectly fits the metaphor of an eternal river of freedom and liberty to all Americans following his life and work. His insightful wisdom has greatly blessed this nation for more than two centuries. We, (Don Doig and myself, Elias Alias), proudly note that we live where the Jefferson River joins the Madison River and the Gallatin River to create the headwaters of the Missouri River. Those three rivers were named in 1805 by the Lewis and Clark Expedition, during Jefferson's tenure as President and while Albert Gallatin was the Secretary of the Treasury. The legacy of Thomas Jefferson, which in part is individual freedom for every citizen, lives on in Montana. For such reasons, we have chosen to name our new coalition in honor of Thomas Jefferson, one of this nation's greatest founders and benefactors.

The Jefferson River Coalition
What is The Jefferson River Coalition? We are an association of non-partisan activists who are concerned about America's present course, and who are willing to contribute to an understanding of what has gone wrong in America, and who are willing to help to correct our course as a nation.
The coalition is not affiliated with any political party, nor with any religion, nor with any particular philosophy other than the philosophy of pure, equal, individual freedom for one and all. We are grass-roots Montanans and Americans, coming from all walks of life, who have suspended our personal preferences temporarily for the purpose of uniting as good neighbors and friends in a common cause.
What are the goals of The Jefferson River Coalition? The coalition is planning a series of public educational events which will focus on serious problems which threaten our values, ethics, morality, traditional culture, and our very way of life as good Montanans and Americans. One goal is to assist our neighbors as they work to re-gain control over our local affairs, our schools, our neighborhoods and communities, by diminishing the interaction between the State of Montana and the Federal government of the United States and the Federation of the United Nations. Another goal is to establish a nation-wide network of communities in support of the rule of law in direct opposition to present Federal criminality.
How can the coalition accomplish its goals? By organizing local resistance to Federal tyranny; by issuing political assessments of and endorsements of political candidates and political issues at the local level; by informing the public of gross deceptions perpetrated by the Federal government; by exposing and revealing governmental criminality and intrusiveness; by holding regularly-scheduled public meetings featuring film clips and speakers; by publishing and distributing informative and useful materials; and by revealing the hidden history of our nation which has been intentionally suppressed.
What will the coalition expect of you? We shall expect your commitment to attending our public events as much as possible; your financial support in the form of dues, contributions, and donations; your willingness to forward to your good neighbors, co-workers, friends, and families the information the coalition seeks to share; your enthusiasm as a patriotic Montanan and American; your dedication to this nation's founding principles as written in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
Why is The Jefferson River Coalition forming now? Five primary reasons:
1) To prevent America from becoming a Federalized police state under the usurped authority of a military-industrial complex.
2) To prevent America from being assimilated into the coming one-world government.
3) To protect and preserve traditional American values, morals, ethics, freedoms and liberty for the individual citizen and sovereign.
4) To preserve our characteristic history of personal responsibility, to protect private property ownership, and to celebrate our Bill of Rights.
5) To promote and distribute useful information, hidden important historic facts, and informed interpretations of governmental activities on behalf of all Montanans and Americans while we still possess the Internet and the alternative press. We understand that time is short.
Example: The Jefferson River Coalition planned for the month of January, 2007 a group caravan to our State's capitol at Helena for the purpose of speaking before Committees in favor of legislations proposed by the Honorable Diane Rice, Chair of the Judiciary Committee, Montana House of Representatives. Nine of our members stood before the Judiciary Committee to speak against the national ID card. Our efforts were rewarded with a unanimous vote in favor of both bills against the Federal national ID law.
The coalition will seek to re-establish the broken connection between we citizens and our once-representative government by promoting the return to a Bill of Rights culture.
We warmly invite all law-enforcement and military personnel, civil-servants, politicians, and freedom-loving citizens of all walks of life to join with us in celebrating traditional American Liberty, the spirit of truthful discovery, community networking, and a renewal of our wonderful heritage as honest Montanans and free Americans.
