Lampshade

It was woven upon a spectral stretch of
the wired science of shape it would assume
around the light's diffusion.

It had been lowered down around the round lamp light,
defining the light's activity, directing certain errant rays
which might offend a sensitive eye.

The lampshade was effective.
Having crowned it with my hat, it naturally funneled
down the electric infusions, downward to this paper.

Light on paper.
Darkness in ink.
Form and shadow.
Laboring Logos birthing
Wet lines drying
Into what we might discover
At the conscience
Of penpoint to paper
In light sent down,
Round and perfect,
By a shade.
