In '98 the SC of Wisconsin struck down the right to resist unlawful arrest. However, we still have the right to resist when excessive force is used. Of course, the victim would have a very different definition of excessive force than the perpetrator. When my father was young, he beat up a cop who was beating the crap out of his friend. This was back in the 50's and he was never caught. Today he would be tracked down, tased, flashbanged and everything else.

Meanwhile for those of us unwilling to wait for the very uncertain legislative process (keep in mind such a law runs counter to the interests of the ruling class), we are just going to have to resist without worrying too much about legislative sanction. A potentially difficult course, but there are limits to what a person will put up with. It's the assailant who forces the choice on us; he doesn't wait for the legislature either.

I'm very proud to note that a similar bill has been introduced this year in my home state of New Hampshire. HB 1212, sponsored by freedom-fighting State Reps. George Lambert and Andrew Manuse, would make it legal for citizens to resist unlawful arrests. Predictably, NH's Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee voted against the bill, but it still has to go before the full House for a binding vote.

It's not as comprehensive as the model statute you've outlined, but it's still very heartening to see some Mundane pushback against the praetorians through official channels. Hopefully we'll start to see more such bills introduced in other states as well.

Reminds me of the movie The Bad Lieutenant. These predations regularly occurred in the Soviet Union right before the collapse. A woman would go to the station to report a rape then get raped at the station by the state sanctioned gangstas. How about that great society and fifty years of liberalism. No need for morals or codes of ethics. Anything goes everything is ok.
