We are starting to see some of the other candidates parroting Dr. Paul's constitutional stance on a variety of issues. I think if Dr. p0aul had not been in the race they probably would have made it all the way to nov. 2008 without even mentioning the document. But who are you going to trust to actually uphold the constitution? Who has the 20 yr record of rejecting every piece of legislation that is not constitutional? He even votes against pork barrell spending for his own district. How does someone like that even get reelected in todays constitutionally ignorant society? I personally would be proud to have him as my congressman. He actually does work very hard on behalf of his constituents in helping them on an individual basis to cut through red tape and resolve problems that affect them on a very individual level. He actually champions the minority of all minorities...THE INDIVIDUAL
So when all of these other guys start to talk about their oath to the constitution or states rights, just remeber that only one of them actually has a record of following through on that and not being corrupted by the influence of lobbyists.

Blogging about Ron Paul is great, but it ain't gonna get him nominated. This is the big hurdle.

It should be obvious to everyone by now that the MSM and the big-shot pundits are not going to acknowledge him as a legitimate candidate. Even Patrick Buchanan last night on the McGauglin Group, when debating over which candidate was a true conservative in the Republican race, didn't mention Dr. Paul.

Just saying Dr. Paul has our vote won't get him nominated. The primaries are where it's going to happen, and that is trench warfare. At the very least, I hope everyone on this blog is in a meet-up group, and signed on as a supporter/contributor with the RP campaign.

Your description was dead on in my view specifically because I can see Dr. Paul experiencing a George Wallace moment.

I mean if Ron Paul starts to really stir the aggregate populace at large in a big way, I seriously think a Wallace episode or worse would be all but inevitable.

And, in any event, it's a certainty that the "mainstream" media machine would shift into high gear with the sleights, smears, distortions of his positions and overall attempts to minimize Paul's exposure in the limelight.

They're doing some of that now, but it will certainly intensify as the presidential campaigns heat up.

The HSLDA (Home school legal defense association) came out a couple of months ago supporting Huckabee. I literally had the biggest knipschen fit in recent memory and fired off the longest letter of my life with quotes taken directly from Mr. H's web site. The man is without a doubt a Fascist wrapped in the flag carrying a cross. The smarmy goose-stepping comments masked as his "platform" raised so many red flags I thought the Sudetenland was going to be annexed at any moment. The mans own words, on his own site, should be enough to scare any clear thinking Christian to avoid him. The sad reality that the HSLDA would back this lunatic puts my faith in them into the tank.

I just sent the Ron Paul another campaign contribution --- this was my second time. I have never before donated any money to any presidential campaign this is my first time.

I will vote for Ron Paul because if he does not get the nomination then our next president will be wearing a skirt with Willie running the halls.

Why don't we see hardly any Ron Paul's elected at a local level resisting planning and zoning government funded education and such?

It seems unlikely that he would ever be elected by a voter base that is socialistic like the voter base in the US.

I hope this will change partly as a result of the Ron Paul movement.

I keep seeing Ron Paul as a smart and mature Jefferson Smith fighting the Taylor machine in "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington". Especially, the two scenes at the end when the Senatores are beginning to listen to his every word during his fillabuster and when he approaches the corrupt Senator Paine and says,

They intentionally left other candidate's (read: Guiliani and Romney) microphones on so they could laugh and snicker at Dr. Paul. Yes! The Dr. Paul/EMH reference was superb - one of those "I wish I'd said it" things. On VOY, The Doctor was called only when needed. In real life, we need Dr. Paul 24 hours a day - we are in a perpetual state of emergency.
