Thanks for writing this, Will.

Lately, I've been oscillating between being a supporter of the police and FBI and being more Libertarian. I really do think there are some crazy, anti-cop types out there, but I am also deeply concerned with very real police abuse.

This article does more than cover the story of a criminal like Hunter, it provides a very good thought experiment as to what we can do to reform our criminal justice system: focus on the harm done to the individual rather than "society."

I hope we can seriously work towards serious reform of our law-enforcement.

There is a reason why nobody pays any attention to articles like this but I doubt the writer will ever figure it out.

You certainly paid what little attention you could afford to the piece, even though you couldn't trouble yourself to read it -- or, more likely, have it read to you.

To spare you the unfamiliar agony of actually reading and following an argument before opining on its merits, I'll summarize what I wrote:

The hideous crime committed by the depraved, feral, despicable being named Ibn Hunter underscores the utter failure of the government's "justice" system in deterring such acts, or providing restitution to victims of the same. This is because the system is structured to profit from violent crime, and to ignore the victims thereof.

Not being a cultural Marxist, I reject entirely the pernicious concept of "hate crimes," which exacerbate the problem I describe above by treating "justice" in collectivist terms.

Another example of somebody blaming a black man's actions on the "white man". What this kid did was a hate crime but nobody will call it for what it is because
A) the perpetrator was not white enough
B) the victim was a woman and apparently it's not hateful enough for a helpless woman to be knocked out for minding her business.
