Excellent point, petkov. Delusion and idolatry have been the way of things since as far back as the founding of the USA and much farther. It's not a new phenomenon. The veneration of so-called "Founding Fathers" (what self-respecting man would utter such a thing?) has everywhere been a necessary propaganda tool to ensure cohesiveness and perpetuate the myth of state.

Allegiance to a global super-state will be just as silly, of course, if not more so than loyalty to the waning nation-state. But that doesn't make nationalism a valid, sacrosanct reference point. There are no true reference points. There are no bedrock political principles worth adhering to. Politics is hocus-pocus from jump and nothing more.

Everything in this world revolves around POWER RELATIONSHIPS, and the rest is illusion. Globalism is simply the newest fleeting fad. This, too, will fail to usher in the elusive Heaven on Earth.

We are wandering around in circles here in the desert, chasing in vain after countless mirages.

I heartily appreciate your stimulating writing ! Thanks for keeping a jaundiced eye on the police state, fulltime.

The theme I keep thinking of that runs throughout your writing seems to be: How do we, as citizens, achieve the balancing act of blending Liberty with Order ?

"Liberty without Order is as destructive as Order without Liberty", a wise man remarked.

This is the perpetual challenge, that is the province of Self-Government, under God, to discover, define & put into practice.

Which is why politics is the inevitable outcome of our First Principles, not the otherway 'round.

It's the struggle to balance Liberty with Order that causes 'Freedom'.

It's the refusal to blend the two that causes destruction.

(Micah 6:8 holds the key ....)

For example, the Left's besetting sin is to desire total Liberty, thus they neglect Order.

Contrarywise, the Right's mirror-opposite error is to so seek total Order, that they destroy Liberty.

As Petrov & Sam C pointed out, some men (Federalists), erred on the 'Order, at the expense of Liberty' side.

If the Anti-Federalists erred on the other side, at least that limited the potential abuse of Centralized power. (As our age has PROVEN...)

But the requirement, the precondition of a more local form of Government is a stronger connection to God & His eternal Principles.......the more we enjoy of Self-Govenment, in this manner, the less need we will have to "ask for a King.." (I Samuel 8).

As William Penn observed: "Men must either be governed by God, or they condemn themselves to be ruled by Tryants."

The answer to all these police state fears is a return to Self-government: a governing of the Passions of individual men, by the only One capable of grounding them to an Ordered Liberty, without ever being tyrannical:

Jesus Christ, King of Kings & Lord of Lords. **

Either we repent, honor & obey Him, or be ruled by : Bush, Obama or the Federal & State tyrants.

As for me & my house, we will serve the LORD !

Petkov makes a very cogent point that gets lost time and again in the "debate". I hear over and over people moaning about how there is the lack of civics classes in school and how the young are ignorant about the Constitution, history, etc. Funny, but as I recall it was BECAUSE of these said civics classes that I was indoctrinated and kept ignorant of the truth. It wasn't because they happened to not be around but because they WERE, and the statist mindset they bred, that I didn't see the world clearly until I was well into my thirties. And how far back does this propaganda go? When were its seeds planted? Clearly well before I ever took my first breath.

Petkov raises a good point. The seeds of the state we see today go all the way back to the beginning of our Nation and the struggle between the Federalists and Anti-federalists. The fight between a big centralized government (espoused by Madison, Hamilton, and their ilk) and small decentralized government (supported by Patrick Henry, George Mason, and others) was lost when the Constitution was ratified by the States. We have sown the wind and reaped the whirlwind.

Will, thanks for mentioning what Ted Rall wrote recently. It only goes to prove what I've said time and again that some people have no problem being a slave so long as its "their" slave master that holds the whip. It is this dysfunctional mindset that I run up against and I'm quite astonished as to how many people cling to it like a baby to their mothers teat.

That weapons such as the LRAD would be used on peaceful protest within our own nation shows this country to be nothing less than a militarized state. No need for a facade any longer.
