SAMPLE LETTER

You may copy and modify the following letter to send, under your signature, to your Congressman and Senators.  In TAKE ACTION! you will find a link to the e-mail addresses of your representatives.

Dear Congressman:

I am opposed to the Child Online Protection Act that passed, on October 7, 1998, the House and the Senate.

It is the right and responsibility of parents to determine what their child may or may not access on the Internet.  The state has no right to intrude in this matter.

Further, this proposed bill would be a violation of right of adults to freely access the Internet.  The bill would effectively require a license for Internet access through its provision for an adult access code for entry to certain sites.

Leave me and the Internet alone.

Sincerely,
