HAPPENINGS THIS WEEK:

1. KT Ordnance's Whiskey Day Memorial Machine Gun Shoot and Ice Cream Social. It begins Saturday, July 15 and runs through the 23rd. Following the recent BATFE/FBI raid, some planned features have been scaled back or revised. But the event goes on. (And yes, I'm proud to say Rick named the event after Hardyville's similar shoot and social. And I believe I stole borrowed that name from machine-gunner friend UnReconstructed. So we're all just passing on a great new tradition.)

2. A volunteer will match donations to Aaron Russo's new film project through July 13. Details are behind the "More" link.

Here's the message as it came last week from Russo supporters

Dear Lovers of Liberty:

A Chicago area-based AFTF Volunteer, Brian Lovett, has offered to make a "dollar-for-dollar" match up to $5000 for anyone who donates more than $50 within the next 7 days:

Brian wrote:

"America: Freedom to Fascism is the most important film of the century and I'm going to prove it by putting my money where my mouth is. I am pledging a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $5,000 for those that donate more than $50 within the next 7 days. They should send me an e-mail as to the date and amount of their donation. Additionally, for each person, up to 5, that donates $5,000 or more in the next 7 days, I will add an additional $1,000 to their $5,000. To increase the coverage of this offer, I encourage you to forward this to everyone in your mailbox, and encourage them to do the same."

I've already donated $191 in the past 24 hours - in two donations $113 and $78 - but to begin the process of kicking off Brian's offer I will kick in an additional $356.

Thank you Brian for setting such a powerful example! I hope that more individuals follow your example.

Remember: Freedom is NOT Free! This movie needs to be seen by EVERYONE NOW!!

Celebrate the 230th Anniversary of the Declaration of our Independence from King George by donating to support this movie!

Let everyone be counted! Send proof of your donation to Brian's email address at:

"Brian M. Lovett" blovett@chicagogsb.edu

And after Brian's $5000 is matched, hopefully others will follow!

Fred Smart
AFTF National Volunteer Coordinator

The film opens on July 28th in selected cities.

Donations can be made at the film's homepage.
