gordonmcdowell at YouTube - A remix and compression of three one-hour talks into one 16.5 minute video. The World's Energy Problems Were Solved in the Nineteen-Sixties, with the Liquid-Fluoride Thorium Reactor (LFTR). Cheap, safe, almost limitless electricity, with very little spent fuel to dispose of and no weapons-grade nuclear products. Why don't we have these today, all over the world? Politics, of course. EnergyFromThorium.com is a blog devoted to Thorium reactors. Recent posts (3/16/2011) talk about the reactors in Japan that were damaged by the earthquakes/tsunami. Thorium reactors wouldn't have the problems exhibited there.

The author of that blog also gave a Google Tech Talk on thorium. Turns out most nuclear physicists can do their entire careers without learning about thorium reactors.
