Thank You, Brewster Kahle!

I was recently looking at my periodic expenses on NearlyFreeSpeech.net, where I keep some of my low-bandwidth web sites, and I noticed that I was paying a few cents a day for a MySQL server. Not remembering that I had a site that relied on that, I deleted the server, and all the data. Well, it broke FreedomOutlaws.com, which used a small SQL table to relate file name, label, and password. Recreating the table with all the file names was easy, the names were in the file system, but I had no backup of labels or passwords. Archive.org to the rescue. Thanks to my friend, Brewster Kahle, I was able to get back all the labels except the two most recent uploads on page 6. Still no passwords, but those are only necessary for people to change their label or delete their photo, which happens rarely. Thank you, Brewster!

passwords

Is it possible to make a new password? I might want to replace that old photo with a better, new one!!

And, speaking of passwords, I was not able to log in here because I got an error message the first time that my ID or password were not valid... and the second time I tried it the whole page hung up completely.

I might be wrong about the password, though I doubt it... but my ID hasn't changed in at least ten years! :)

I can certainly set a password for one of the photos if asked, assuming the asker can convince me that (s)he is actually the owner of the photo. In your case, that'll pretty easy.

No idea why you couldn't log in to post a comment. Did you try the forgotten password thing?
