Randy Weaver, Still Kickin'

Submitted by Bill St. Clair on Mon, 2001-04-30 07:00.
Old Sweet Beggar

This
Path to God
Made me such an old sweet beggar.

I was starving until one night
My love tricked God Himself
To fall into my bowl.

Now Hafiz is infinitely rich,
But all I ever want to do

Is keep emptying out
My emerald-filled
Pockets

Upon
This tear-stained
World.

(The Subject Tonight is Love - versions of Hafiz by Daniel Ladinsky)

john at loony dot org - Saturday, April 21, 2001 - I still have tears in my eyes from this one. Welcome to the world, Brigid Rose. Just reading your father's story about your light has brightened my day. [loony]

Amber Kronberg - Friday, April 27, 2001 - thanks, Amber, for the kind words about my little blog. [eden]

I want every person I know to read Bill's site EVERY DAY. I want people to be aware of more than just the stories considered to have importance by the mainstream media. I want people to think and learn and reconsider and laugh and cry.

john at loony dot org - Thursday, October 26, 2000 - a good rant on the loss of privacy and the coming complete disappearance of privacy compliments of the techno-fascist state. [eden]

I have an idea...

Lets round up every American and put one of those radio-transmitter collars on them, and wire it to every department store security system and video camera in the United States. That way, when the government needs to know what you are doing and where you are, all they have to do is punch up a couple of screens of information.

...

I'd rather die as a John Doe than safely exist my entire life as #273645-88435, with Uncle Sam keeping close watch over whether I am naughty or nice.

I read the new issue of Doing Freedom!. An excerpt from one of Claire Wolfe's new books. A great story by Victor Milan. Farewell from Don Lobo Tiggre. Sunni's going to be editing Doing Freedom! by herself from here on out, while Don Lobo works on a new, as yet unamed, project.

Smith & Wesson Cam is a webcam of a Model 19. You can help its owner watch for signs of gun violence. Hehe.

Anne Hull at The Washington Post - Randy Weaver's Return From Ruby Ridge BugMeNot - a good article on Randy Weaver's life today with his new wife in Iowa. [grabbe]

It's hard to say who Weaver is now. The industry of rage and resentment makes certain demands upon him. He is a folk hero of ultra-right-wing groups. When asked about McVeigh's impending execution, he says almost reflexively, "There should be a bunch of federal agents lying right beside him on the gurney."
